geotube Coastal was developed for coastal and marine engineering applications geotube are made from a Woven Geotextile tube, made of high tenacity polypropylene fibres, with high strength seams and filled with the locally available slurried sand (or similar) and is used in the construction of sea defences, dune reconstruction, breakwaters and groynes. Their size is varied depending on the needs of the project.

The Geotube is UV resistant, has a high mechanical resistance and high durability. The sand slurry is pumped into the  tube through filling ports. The water component of the slurry drains out through the walls of the tube, leaving the sand within.

They can also be used in the construction of river breakwaters within larger river works.
